My fellow Nigerian Youth,
My name is Lazarus Uwakwe, a highly business oriented person(CEO
Unick Group Of Schools,UBG International).I write this letter to inform and
educate us on a very big economic crash Nigeria that is befalling us as a
nation and will still do worse to the country if care is not taken.
This economic problem or crash or whatever you may call it is responsible
for a lot of issues in Nigeria, issues like
1. Kidnaping
2. Arm Robbery
3. Pocket Pickers
4. 419ners
5. Yahoo Yahoo Plus Plus
6. Poverty
7. BokoHaram
8.Others Name It
This problem as far as I'm concern is the biggest problem facing
our economy right now, this problem is UNEMPLOYMENT.
Well we all know that there is no need for an explanation…Unemployment
simply means lack of adequate jobs for the youths and others in a particular
country.
But you know what there is a saying that goes like this…Be the
change you want to see in the world…So my question is this to you, how have you
helped Nigeria in this aspect?
Well I guess you may say it is none of my business like our
leaders say but the truth is that egocentricism self-centeredness will only
destroy Nigeria the more, Nigeria is not meant for only a certain people called
the RICH no its meant for all including you so how are you contributing your
quota in this situation I ask you again…
We have to make this change especially in this period where
change is becoming eminent, the system have destroyed a lot and for you to
really make a break you will have to go against the system. This is what the
system taught us
---------Go to school
---------Graduate with good grades
---------Look for a job in a good company
---------Start a family
---------Grow yourself in that company
You see this has destroyed a lot and is still destroying a lot
in Nigeria…
Imagine the present rate of unemployment.
Imagine the rate of people writing JAMB on a yearly basis
Imagine the rate of people GRADUATING from polytechnics, college
of educations, universities and other institution of learning
A lot of graduates today are into arm robbery
A lot of graduates today have turned vehicle riders
A lot of graduates today have turned okada riders
I’m sure a lot of graduates have been recruited into becoming bokoharam
high ranking members.
THE SOLUTION
All I’m saying is that we need to make a shift from what the
system have taught us, we need to make a change, we need to make a transit,
enough of jobseekers, we need to understand that we are very much creative…
Let’s become employers of labor.
Let’s be conscious of business building.
Let’s be conscious of entrepreneurship.
LETS TAKE A TOUR
For example if one million Nigerian students graduates in 2015
and ten percent becomes creative enough to be entrepreneur…that means one
hundred thousand people have become entrepreneurs.
If these one hundred thousand people manage their businesses
very well, within a space of two years these people will have employed at least
ten people each…
--------Now lets do the maths
If a person employs another ten.
Then A hundred thousand persons will help a hundred thousand times
ten which equals one million…is that not a wow. With this simple illustration we
can boldly say one million (Employee) and a hundred thousand(Employer) making a
total of one million, one hundred persons taking off the labor market.
Come to think of it this is an average calculation much more can
happen only if we can shift our focus from what the system has taught us…Go to
school, graduate with good grades and then settle with a company then to go to
school, graduate with good grades then building a company.
Let’s help our nation that has been damaged almost beyond repair, discarding
this can be very interesting but very disastrous to our dear nation Nigeria.
Up Nigeria, Up Youth, Up You…
